The permanent dermal filler is a type of anti-wrinkle injection which never really gets broken down by your body. It consists of 2.5% hydro gel which is a stable, non-toxic and biologically inactive component. The transparent gel is odorless and pH neutral and since it’s insoluble it becomes part of your soft tissue. It is safe, very stable and does not move from the injected site.

The cost of treatment is $1200 and most people like to have it retouched after years of wear as your facial contours change as you age. Just like with any other injectable treatment a little bit of bruising is possible. Because it is sterile and is administered by a medical professional in a sterile, controlled environment the rate of infection is just as low as with any other anti wrinkle injectable treatment.

One thing you need to make sure of is that you are happy with the fullness of the injected site. It is necessary for you to go through a non-permanent filler first to ensure your complete satisfaction as once fillers administered it’s there to stay, so to speak.

You also need to know that when you move onto a permanent filler you cannot go back to a temporary one.

Hi Natalie, Thank you for your question. There are a few things to consider here:

1) You are totally right, it is not my place to comment at all, since I have no idea what was done or how or what kind of results are evident.

2) It is too early to judge the final outcome of treatment. I would suggest to wait 2 weeks. Ideally, you should book to see the practitioner who administered treatment 2 weeks after your injections as a follow up. Follow up appointments are an excellent practice as it allows injectors to monitor treatment progress and ensure great treatment outcomes.

3) Results from injected dermal fillers can vary depending on a number of factors eg how much was injected, brand of filler, technique etc. One of the factors is the type of filler used and the depth it was injected to. Some fillers are made to be injected only very superficially, almost just under the skin, and if injected too deep might not produce the desired result. I’m not saying this was the case at all here, just making you aware this is not something every injector takes into consideration when administrering treatments.

4) Dermal filler implants is an excellent long term filler. However many experts agree that after having it injected you should not be “topping up” with any other filler for the rest of your life. This is due to depth its injected as well as its composition. It normally lasts at least 5 years before another top up is needed (due to changes on the bone, muscle and skin over the years and not because implant dissolves as it does not).
