$7k Facial Peel. Can you justify the price tag?

How did the amazing Mila Kunis ”Black Swan” actress miss the award for Best Supporting Actress for Golden Globes early in january 2011? And got a 7,000-dollar facial!

The HD Diamond and Ruby Peel treatment was provided by celebrity esthetician Scott-Vincent Borba and it contained rubies and diamonds. The results are a lustrous sheen on a face and antioxidants infusion.

This treatment actually uses the actual gemstones in its name; the rubies act as the antioxidant and the diamonds to provide a topical sheen. He then tops it all off with a peraffin silk fiber facial. Rumor has it that Borba also has the gorgeous diva suck on an ice cube during the process, a trick that helps decrease puffiness.

“I always do [this on] her skin, neck, décolleté, arms and the back of her hands — anything that will be possibly showing with her dress,” the New York Daily News quoted Borba as telling Instyle. “Mila is one of my muses. She’ll test my stuff before everyone else and give me feedback,” he said.

Few people ask me what are facial peels?
And just how that extraordinary price tag is attached to them?

The Facial Peel is a non-surgical way of rejuvenating the skin. Peeling of the surface layers of the skin by a chemical (often natural based but with very concentrated, active ingredients) solution allows new healthy skin to heal from below, thus revealing a softer, smoother, clearer skin underneath.

The typical candidate for Facial Peeling has sun damaged skin, pigmentation problems or may just require a refreshed appearance. Different strengths of peel are used depending on the skin condition and the depth of peel required.

Rubies and diamonds can be in a peel. Diamonds in a peel is a unique blend of 5% Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) and peptides to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin softening fine lines and wrinkles for a firm youthful radiant skin tone and texture

Ruby peel is formulated with a unique blend of 7% Lactic Acid (AHA), Salicylic Acid (BHA), Resorcinol and Pomegranate extract to fade hyper-pigmentation and correct acne blemishes for crystal clear skin.

Question remains can you justify the price tag now?

Surely you can start with something more down to earth
